I strive to integrate creativity and learning with all my business pursuits. I program, photograph, make music, and design with equal enthusiasm. It takes a lot of juggling and time management, but I love to get involved with everything and make things happen.
After studying with renowned jazz altoist Jackie McLean, I moved to New York City in 1995 to be part of its inspirational jazz scene. In addition to working as a jazz saxophonist, I became a consultant developing database applications for a small Long Island firm PC-FM, inc. I programmed custom solutions for scores of small businesses and larger organizations including the Guggenheim Museum and Cablevision.
My own firm Danenberg Consulting LLC, begun in the spring of 2002, offers a core of database development, web development, and other areas of information technology. My work drives the calculations of EnergyWatch, Inc., an innovative New York energy consultancy. I built database solutions instrumental to public health research carried out by the NYC Department of Health and many area hospitals.
In 2008, I teamed up with Christian R. Salazar, MPH to form Biotasix, Inc. We offer biostatistic consulting and software solutions for epidemiological research.
I continue developing applications in 2011, both as a solo provider and a project manager of small teams. I’m also involved with a handful of stealth mode startups. My roles include project management, marketing, design, product development, programming, and business strategy. As a saxophonist, I gig actively with Duke Baxter Band, The BlackTails, and other music projects.
My blog here at kevindanenberg.com reflects a constantly evolving thought process trying to tie it all together.
