I love music photography and creating images of the performing arts. I enjoy the challenge of shooting with available light, inobtrusively capturing the sparsely-lit stage. I’m exploring the limitless possibilities of portraiture, and I feel I’ve only just begun to figure stuff out. I admire the aesthetics of well-designed architecture. And I can’t help but be a photojournalist of anything odd or amusing, or to share images of the natural world.

I love black and white film most of all, but shoot a lot of digital these days for the convenience and lower cost. Still, there are things you can do with silver halide that you just can’t do with CCD sensors. For example, while you can ostensibly simulate grain in Photoshop, you cannot truly replicate an orange filter (orange is not recorded by the sensor — only red, green, and blue!).
